Autumn in New York Part 1

Fall Break for the Seiberts in Western New York at the pumpkin patch!

After flying in on Wednesday to Buffalo we enjoyed cooler temps and beautiful fall color.

I know its SCARY...Blake and Brock carving out their pumpkins!
Knives in hand and mom is still breathing....

3 Boys, 3 B's, 3 jack-0-lanterns!
Welcoming visitors to Foxpoint Drive!

Dressed up getting ready to go play some golf with Uncle Tim.
Nanni and the four guys on the front porch!

While the guys are playing golf Aunt Cindy took me to Lewiston antiquing! And you know how much I enjoy shopping on a cool fall day. The town is so charming!

This picture is in front of the Country Doctor Antique shop.
My favorite thing browsing for special finds.

Everything was decorated for fall...one of my favorite times of the year.
It was sweater weather for sure.

More antiques in the basement....

Lewiston Opera Hall

Picket fences, witches on bikes and mums...picturesque!

Quaint cafe...and skeletons to greet!

I love old buildings and history! Corn husks welcome you at the front door.

Dicamillo Bakery....I bought some Amaretto Biscotti...yum!

Lots of goodies in the case..... Cindy and I enjoyed a Pumpkin Latte!

The gazebo where they have jazz festivals in the summer.

An old Victorian house with painted shutters.

They saved some leaves for me...not everything had fallen.

Beautiful flowers and colors....

Looking across the river to Canada.

Freedom Crossing Monument where the slaves crossed over to Canada.

Uncle Tim and Aunt Cindy with the boys.

Not only did Tim treat for golfing at Niagara Falls Country Club but we went to dinner that evening. Thanks guys for spoiling us.

Happy Mother's Day To My Mom

The Mansion on Lake Overholser
The entrance to the 37th Symphony Show House.

Around Mother's Day every year it is our tradition as Mother/Daughter
to go to the Decorator Show Home.

Can you tell it was a little windy?
Later on in the afternoon we would have a huge tornado outbreak with 26 tornadoes hitting our state.

We also love to do a little antique shopping.
This is at The Rink in Bethany one of my favorite places for great finds.

We also went to Rococo for delcious crab cakes.

I love my mom. I wish I could do this more often.
We had so much fun doing our girl thing.
I hope you enjoyed your mom on Mother's Day.

On Columbus Day we decided to sample the pleasures and do some exploring in our own town.

Since A Spot For Tea is closed on Monday it gave me a chance to explore with my mother-in-law Helene Seibert, who is visiting from New York and best friend, Jody Sharp (my Matron of Honor and antiquing/shopping/loves good food buddy since 1979).

First we started off trying out another tearoom. You know how I love to have tea even on my day off so we tried out a old place with a new owner on 42nd and Meridian.

Then off we went strolling the streets of downtown Bethany and going to some of our favorite antique shops on an early autumn afternoon. Alot of the shops are in walking distance of one another. Window shopping and visiting with shop owners was so much fun. We talked with Millie, owner of Cobblestone and Kathy at Kathy's Korner. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and everything was decorated for fall and smelled like pumpkin and spices.

There are new discoveries to be made...every day. The best adventures I have had an(tea)quing happen when I just plan to browse. With all the bad news of economy and politics...its so nice to give yourself an excuse to time travel on a wonderful fall afternoon.

"To affect the quality of the day, that is the highest of arts."
- Henry David Thoreau

Psalm 118:24 "This is the day that the Lord has made;
I will rejoice and be glad in it."

Whatever Is Lovely

What to do with your broken china pieces? When life gives you lemons make pink lemonade or in this case a broken china mosaic teapot!

Spring is here! One of my most favorite things about the tearoom is the retail area. We got new items in last week for Mother's Day. We redid the upfront with new antique pieces! Love this apple green cupboard I found to display all the goodies.

I love anything pink, green or with roses. I read today that your feelings are part of your internal guidance system. When you are feeling joy and a sense of expansion, it simply means you are on course - the things you are focusing on, the thoughts you are thinking or creating, the ideas you are entertaining, and the activities you are engaged in are actively moving you in the direction of your dreams.
Philippians 4:8 "Finally, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things."
THINK ON WHATEVER IS LOVELY!
