Movie Night with Julia

Last night my friend Jody and I went to see a special screening of Julie and Julia. I had bought the book and loved it. How can you go wrong with Meryl Streep? We are most certain that she will win an award for her portrayal of Julia Childs. She is marvelous in the film. Watching a good movie at the theatre is one of my favorite things to do...
Jody and I have been friends since we were 15 and 16 years old and we also share the love of eating good food. She took me to The Melting Pot for fondue. It was delicious and a new experience for me. Their catch phrase is "dip into something new". My sentiment exactly.

Tea Time at Asa Ransom House

On Tuesday of our vacation I got to visit the Asa Ranson House in Clarence, New York.
You can click here to visit their website.
Built in 1853, this charming Clarence bed & breakfast is charming and secluded, but only 15 minutes from Buffalo and 28 miles from Niagara Falls.
It is the perfect setting for Afternoon Tea.

My sister-in-laws, Susan Fiegel and Cindy Drabik and my niece Sarah Fiegel...what a treat.

The waitress first brought out a tea box filled with an assortment of teas to try.

I had Heavenly Green Tea with Passion Fruit and Delightful Raspberry Vanilla Herbal.

In the sugar bowl...raw sugar cubes with sugar tongs.

Then the traditional tea tray was served.

A selection of finger sandwiches with fruit garnish.
Chicken salad on Rye, Cucumber on Pumpernickle, Sun dried tomato on Wheat and Raspberry jam on White.

Elegant cakes and pastries.
Carrot Cake, Cheescake and assortment of tea cookes.

Fruit Scones that were delicious.
(Apricot and berry)

Served with jam, butter and Devonshire Cream.

In the library you could have tea by the fireplace.
I could only imagine during the winter how cozy this would be.

Asa Ransom House offers tea every Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday
From 1:00 - 4:00pm.
"The tea party is a spa for the soul. You leave your cares and work behind. Busy people forget their business. Your stress melts away, your senses awaken." - Alexandra Stoddard
Thanks girls for a great afternoon!
